For Those That Would
« on: March 01, 2008, 06:16:24 PM »

I do not see a prayer section so hope this will work

I have been asked by a friend to help in starting a coast to coast prayer chain for their daughter Tiffany.
The young lady is in serious trouble health wise and in her personal life. She was born with a auto-immune diease that has almost taken her life on several occasions.

She bacme involved with a controlling, abusive man that has isolated her from her family. This past week she became very ill and finally did call home. The parents were able to get her to the hospital, where she was being aggressively treated for a number of infections.
The boyfriend is jealous and demanded she leave and come back to him. He created quite a scene and the Dr and all became involved, called social services, she is 18,safe house, police dept.
In the end Tiffany left on her own today. Mom went to the store to purchase some items for her and when she was gone, Tiffany walked out. They do not know where she is, she is seriously ill, and with her medical problems can become critical in moments. The man she is involved with will not allow her nor will he seek medical help for her.
The parents are terrified, exhausted, and about defeated, altho, very firm believers in prayer. They know they have exhausted all efforts and they ask any that would care to, to pray for their daughter and for them to be able to accept what happens

Bonnie, this is such a sad story, and also a common one in the sense of someone controlling another and loved ones feeling helpless to do anything. I will pray for Tiffany. Please keep us posted, ok?

An all too familiar story. Tiffiany will certainly be in my prayers. Please let us know how she gets on.

Seeing the need for a prayer section at Advent Talk, I created the Prayer Circle forum and then moved this prayer topic here.

It has been a pretty rocky ride, but appears a breakthru may have been made today. When Tiffany left the hospital the first time, all test results were not in. When they had the results, the DR's and polic became involved in getting her back the hospital asap. It took some doing but she finally did return. She was promptly placed on a 72 hour watch with a nurse with her at all times. She underwent a physc evaluation voluntarily. Her physical health is improving.

Her pastor spent the day with her, assured her of the numbers praying for her. She finally broke this afternoon and a representative from a safe house is on the way to her now. The man she is with has a criminal background
and is not above harming someone physically.
Hopefully she will continue with plans for protection as they will be forced to release her tomorrow when the 72 hours are up.
The parents ask that you continue to pray for her and thank you from the bottom of their heart. truly grateful for those that don't know her to be showing concern for their daughter

This morning is crunch time for Tiffany. Waiting for DR to release her . There is an order for protection for the whole family against this man. He has open cases pending against him and is out on bail for rape. Not sure when scheduled for trial. They found out that Tiffany has been working two jobs to support him,his mother and herself. Part of the reason she got so sick along with all the stress.
She finally admitted to staying with him because of fear and threats to her family.
She will have a police escort to retrieve her personal belongings from their apt and hopefully from there she will still follow thru with the safe house committment.

How sad when such evil is in control. We see this world wide. May God have mercy and grant help to those who suffer.

What a terrific idea and what a statement regarding where this forum finds it's inspiration and guidance.

I trust we will have many prayer requests and that we will form a "virtual prayer circle".

And, Bonnie, let us pray in the Faith that the Lord has answered their prayers. They need the consolation and peace that comes with a true Faith in the Lord's purpose and direction. I will certainly join this prayer circle.

Yes, and it is not good. Another friend and I have spent quite a bit of time with Tiffany's mom. We separately came to the conclusion something more is driving this .
While it is not unusual for a model child to tempoorarily "lose" their mind and do some pretty rebellious things, this has gone way beyond and now has other components.
Tiffany did well for a couple of weeks with her grandmother and then came home. Lasted two days. She then packed her bags and went back to this jerk.
When she left the father informed the mother that they needed to think about divorce as he did not like that fact she had been so angry. He wanted her to go away for a month and think about her "attitude" Prior to that he arranged for the mom to see a counselor,"picking out the professional help.
Along with that he now thinks they should sell the house and get a fresh start. I am a skeptic and firmly believe he is getting his ducks in a row because he has already made the decision and is using this as an excuse.
The mom did leave for out of state for a month. While I don't blame her for needing a few days away, a month in this situation is far to long. She had not completed income tax yet, a job she always does, one he claims not to know as much about, yet he assured her that she needed to go and "rest" and he would take care of it.
She is pretty confused at the moment and I don't think sees anything but that this has been her fault.
During this, another interesting aspect was the brother, a year younger was sent to his grandmother's so he "could get away".

I worked with the mom for four years and had noticed what were to me, control issues. While not attacking it head on I danced around what was going on.
Among other things,She did some sewing for me for a bit, he did not like our relationship and sabatoged at every turn, never letting her complete a project .
It was "Honey, you work to hard, come watch TV with me" Honey, let's go out to dinner, you can do that anytime".
Yet two weeks later, he was on her to get a real job. She was working parttime then for the same company as I did. She resisted for a bit, until divorce was threatened in a round about way. She caved and took a grueling job and things seemed to level off till the trouble with their daughter.

IMO, there are some very serious issues that began a long time ago. How they have impacted Tiffany I don't know, but if the mom can sort this out, she may find the key to her daughter.
In our housing market you do not suddenly decide to sell your home because you have had some problems with your child. You don't threaten a spouse with a divorce because they have become angry, upset and cried over their child. Nor do you send them away for a month.
Time will tell, but I see red flags waving all over the place

I quite understand your concerns Bonnie. Quite legitimate as this is not what one would call a 'normal situation'. Sounds like 'the head of the house' has much to account for and both mother and daughter need protection?

She is in danger!  She must get HIM out of HER house ASAP!  The daughter seems tyo be attracked to contolling people just like her father.

It seems that the family already sees this boyfriends wonderful qualities (NONE).  She probably feels despirate for affection and will accept it on his terms.  I would rather remain celebate for eternity than to do that!  Auto-immune diseases can be killers.  Depression is one of the main symptoms.

I do not know what the mom, daughter, son, or the boyfriend need in their life to save them from this terrible situation.

I see that your friend and Tiffany are in dire straights at the moment!  However, I do not know what is needed, but God does.

I will say this pray and replace me/I with their names.  Only God can know the real situation and the real solution..

                                                                                   Teach Me to Pray

My Lord, I know not what I ought to ask of Thee.

Thou and Thou alone knowest my needs.

Thou lovest me more than I am able to love Thee.

O Father, grant unto me, Thy servant, all which I cannot ask.

For a cross I dare not ask, nor for consolation;

I dare only to stand in Thy presence.

My heart is open to Thee.

Thou seest my needs of which I myself am unaware.

Behold and lift me up!

In Thy presence I stand,

awed and silenced by Thy will and Thy judgments,

into which my mind cannot penetrate.

To Thee I offer myself as a sacrifice.

No other desire is mine but to fulfill Thy will.

Teach me how to pray.

Do Thyself pray within me.

Amen.

How often this is the case. So often, it seems that young women seek partners who have the same traits as their fathers.

Yes. Such tragic circumstances that any young woman will think that is all that they are worth, and any 'love' is better than none.
