What were the disciples doing to prepare for the Gifts of the Spirit?

Do we need the same?

See Acts 1:12-14.

How can witnessing become a Life Style?

How does that compare to healthful living?

Is it easier for a man to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit than a woman?

Do we all have at least one Spiritual Gift?

How do we find out?

Do we all have at least one Spiritual Gift?

How do we find out?

Quote
To him who has but one talent I would say, Do you know that one talent, rightly used and improved, will bring to the Lord one hundred talents? How? you ask. Use your gift in the conversion of one man of intellect, who sees what God is to him, and what he should be to God. Let him place himself on the side of the Lord, and as he imparts the light to others, he will be the means of bringing many souls to the Saviour. Through the right use of one talent one hundred souls may receive the truth. It is not to those who have the greatest number of talents to whom the “Well done” is spoken, but to those who in sincerity and faithfulness have used their gifts for the Master.... {ML 113.3}

Does that answer the question?

There is a great work to be done in our world, and we are accountable for every ray of light that shines upon our pathway. Impart that light, and you will receive more light to impart. Great blessing will come to those who use their talents aright. {ML 113.4}

I remember a young man named Leslie Lemke from Wisconsin who has no eyes and is severely mentally impaired. This man can hear any piece of music played on a piano and immediately play it exactly as the original was been played. I improvised and made up a piece of music while he listened, then he sat down at the keyboard and played it back with every nuance that I had put into it, including hesitations and mistakes. With his one and only talent, this man has blessed and inspired millions of people without ever knowing it.

Seems like this young man once visited Norway. In church he'd listen to the first stanza of the hymns sung in Norwegian, then while the congregation sang the next stanza he'd sing the first, and so he'd go on till the end of the hymn.

Having heard the Norwegian national anthem sung once, he'd in a concert play it on the piano and sing the words without a fault.

Leslie was considered a vegetable until the age of 8 when he showed some response to stimulation. He learned to walk at 15, but his adopted mother found him at a piano playing a flawless version of a Tchaikovsky piece that he had first hear the night before. She discovered that he could play and sing anything he heard. Leslie played in our church and the uneducated Elder who introduced him didn't know how to say that he was an idiot savant, so introduced him to the church as a "stupid idiot who can play and sing."
