Has female ordination began in the Columbia Union?

A report has been circulated that a female was almost immediately ordained to SDA clergy following the vote of the Columbia Union.  I have contacted the Union.  I have been informed that no female has been yet ordained in the Columbia Union.  However gender neutral credentials are being issued where those have been authorized by a local Conference.

I suspected that the report was wrong, so I contacted the Union.

Why do you keep calling it "female ordination" when everyone else seems to be calling it "women's ordination"?

Dogs, cats, chickens, cows, horses birds etc. can all be female.  (Or male)
but a woman is human.

So when it is said only males can be ordained not females,  :hamster: :beagle: :dunno:

Yes, the words “female” and “male” can have various meanings.  Electrical connectors may be either male or female.  Plumbing parts may be either female or male.  There are other uses of those words. 

In communication there is an expectation that people will use common sense and that the conversation will be considered in context.  A politician who once may have said that he had appointed a female as his Chief of Staff could not reasonably be thought to have said that he appointed a rabbit to that position.  Any person who would think otherwise could reasonably be thought to need evaluation of cognition.

Any reason why you didn't answer the question? I asked it because I was really wondering, and would like to know. I do not recall hearing anyone else refer to the issue as "female ordination."

Possibly, but words do show the quality bestowed.

A female -- merely addresses sexual  function, thus one even has electrical and plumbing parts named male or female

A woman -- is a human being, a partner with man.

A lady -- is a woman noted for her good manners and refined conduct.
