Oh... this is nice. Dary is online.
Well, if you look in your reply window and see those Add BBc tags [flash=200,200] [/flash ] is the first icon and[ftp ][/ftp] is the fifth.

Do you know how to use them? Or what they mean?

Sorry, but I do not see any of these things in my reply window, therefore, I do not know what you are talking about.

Surely you have all the formation buttons? they are here just above my typing this in the reply window. If you click, for example, on the first button on the bottom row which has the color segmentations ball you'll get :
[flash=200,200 ] [/flash ]

In that case you know as much about them as I do, therefore, I suggest you test time all out here and see what happens.

In fact, when I have time, I may do the same thing.

;D Okay... we've on the same page. Both learners. That's nice.

now I will click on the first BBC tag button :
http://
It might have something to do with something I wish to download from the web?

now I will click on the second BBC tag button :
ahhh. that's to do with inserting an image in the main text body.

now I will click on the third button :
I use this in another Forum and its the code for showing the url by substituting the address with words to click on in one's post.

now the fourth button :
it's the email addy one wants to post which will be hypersensitive so we can click and go right to emailing someone.

now the fifth button. I have know idea what to do with this code.

now the sixth button and all the others I'll play with latter.

Hello, Ozzie,
please go into the "Post reply" window. It's the pop-up window which you click on to reply to messages. Above the message area is the whole lot of smiley icons. Abobe that is ADD BBC tags. those are the buttons or tags I am talking about.

By the way.... you all may be just using the default layout outlook theme for your preference. I chose Classic YaBB SE Theme. Could it be that in your basic primitive default the buttons for formatation of code tags just aren't to be seen?

Well, that may be the problem, but I don't think I'll be stressing over the newfangled do-dahs! I might just stick with the 'primitive' ones.

Dear Naja: I'm with you, hon.   :hot:   :pals:

Darryl   :canada:  and Ozzie  :australia:, The icons Naja is referring to are the second row of icons under the text formatting icons which are just under the Message Menu block.  Now do you see them?   :console:

I know what some of them refer to, but how to use them I know not. :rabbit: I've tried to figure it out, but didn't have any success. :'(

Obviously, some of the smarties ;) on Advent Talk have more computerese than I do but it sure would be nice if there was a tutor for these icons.  How about it?  Anybody?   :puppykisses:

The main one I need to know how to use is the
Quote
one in order to reply to a list of quotes from various people in one post.  I really needed it last week but had to make do with my 'primitive' brain.  :help:

P.S.  I've bolded my message for our dear friend Ozzie   :dogwag:
