Va. House clears bill extending time for sex assault victims to sue

I thought VA did not have a statute of limitations.  This article says that it was two years.  If so, how have the TS cases been possible?

The article I read says," Criminal charges can still be filed against sexual predators for the rest of their lives."

The change from 2 years to 20 years has to do with a civil suit - the victim actually suing the perpetrator - rather than the criminal charges, for which VA has no statute of limitations.

There are two types of statutes of limitation. Criminally, there isn't such for the types of crimes Tommy committed. Civilly, there is.

The difference is between whether a prosecutor takes Tommy to court and tries to get him thrown in jail, and whether Tommy's victims sue him for damages.

Well, that should open a floodgate of claims to litigate and keep Manly quite busy with claims against Dun Loring and 3ABN!!!
