Let's sum it up with the simple comment that Tommy Ray Shelton is not the only "sexual predator" active in the Adventist communities, and he is not even an SDA. And sexual predators are not only gay , but can be straight and in positions of power as in "sexual harrasment" cases. Remember, we interviewed over two dozen parties with potential complaints but would not give us a signed affidavit. And they were not all gay parties nor did they stop with Tommy Ray Shelton complaints. We did not offer any money for the statements nor were we able to offer litigation services. at the time we had a limited agenda. That agenda has now substantially expanded.
Think about this type of complaint...if you are being charged with Racketeering, then it does take TWO (2) at least to TANGO, or is that to be corrupt??? The problem with these kinds of complaints is that discovery quickly leads to evidence of other parties. We have already found other players...and what role do other players have in the "cover-up" or corruption?
And once the entity is charged, you would not believe how many victims come out of the wood-work and then other players are discovered and more victims will be drawn out by the promise of money...money talks!!! And 3ABN has a board of very powerful and financially vulnerable directors, some of them tied to the SDA Church and other boards. In racketerring complaints, you follow the players and players lead to other plaintiffs and other pools of money. Can be a never ending cycle!!!
I told you, it would have been wise for Adventist Risk Management to have jumped into this and do a "comprehensive settlement". The "stick your head in the sand" approach usually leads to a good kick in the tail-end and sometimes in VERY unpleasant ways...I declare in this one the cost may reach upwards of five times current demand before it is over. Yes, that is a mid to low nine (9) figure cost before the war is over.
While we do not have a "priest-hood" we do have pastors, teachers, administrators and staffers who are human, all too human, and these opening of pandora's box will prove very expensive. Mitch Garabedian started with just one client after Senator Scott Brown disclosed in early March he had been molested at a christian summer camp on Cape Cod in Mass. Garabedian filed a complaint, hit the news circuit and the number is now eighteen (18) and growing and involves more than just the "camp" and it's sponsors. One of the abusers has already committed suicide and his mother has publicly stated she had called the "camp" and it's "sponsors" to warn that her son was a child pedophile and was afraid he was "active". You can expect the complaint will soon be ammended and new defendants will be added. The second pedophile is still alive and well and yet to be deposed for "employment" history. A leads to B, leads to C, leads to infinity. Get the point?
Why are Anderson and Manly in Ireland? Let's just say that "RACKETEERING" complaints frequently get ammended or lead to more than one complaint. The evidence is that the Irish Holy Roman Church was a co-conspirator in the "racketeering".
At 3ABN two will lead to TRS, DLS, and an entire board that has repeatedly stuck their head in the sand. But, we have hundreds of other children who have yet to be presented with opportunities to file complaints. And then, while pedophilia is a problem at 3ABN, the officers and directors of 3ABN and the Churches of God, there are sexual harassment claims that are yet to be vetted. And they had a predator entity for sexual harassment complaints with some interlocking board/officers sponsored right on the campus for years that have ignored some key complaints. And there are officers and directors in SDA conferences and unions and divisions that have also ignored the warnings. And how about our institutions…how many hospitals, colleges, academies and camps do we sponsor?
This will become a witch hunt before it is over and with the “special tithe” having been expended by and large, we will have our hands full containing the bleed…and we have the son of the GC President that proclaimed to a Federal Court that we are the largest Hierarchy next to the Holy Roman Church…and who has been actively consolidating conservative power into a well heeled hierarchy …so, you can see why we are now in the crosshairs!!! Not the notoriety we were looking for, but we will achieve!!!
Ignorance is suppose to be bliss…but it can also cost a load of money…particularly when you have ignored the warnings!!!
