The more I look into this the more inconsistancies I see.
And those inconsistencies are one of my biggest issues.

And a woman is taking office as a vice-president of the Danish Union of Churches on September 1, 2012. She has not been a pastor until now, but quite an active lay person.

Ulicia,
You said that " (All baptisms have to be OK'd by the board in the churches I've been in)."

Could you please explain this? Please elaborate a bit on how this process worked in those churches you were in.
Thanks!

The pastor presents the names of prospective baptisms to the church board.
It's a lot like "transfer of membership" where that is presented to the church board, before it's presented to the church as a whole,  since it is the church that is expected to welcome the new members into fellowship whether they come by baptism or by "transfer".

So a vote is taken by the church board, to welcome them into church fellowship pending their baptism.
Then, after their baptism, the whole church votes them into fellowship.
