In the early hours of this morning, Pastor Rick Odle passed away several days after suffering an accident at home.
In the late eighties Pastor Odle, an Assemblies of God pastor, went to work in master control at 3ABN. He watched program after program and after a time became convicted of the truth of Adventism. He was baptized and eventually became pastor of the Thompsonville SDA Church, but continued on at 3ABN as the head of Pastoral Ministries. After some years, he went into the employ of the Illionois Conference as a pastor, and remained in that capacity until his death.
Rick was loved and respected, and his perpetual smile will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Yes, I have pleasant memories of Pastor Rick Odle when he came back to visit 3ABN to preach.

I remember Rick very well. I remember that you have never been hugged until you have been hugged by Rick. You are sort of lost in his arms.
Very sorry to hear that he is gone.

I also knew Rick. He was a great guy. I am very sorry to hear this. Do you know what happened?
-
I did not even know of this man, but obviously he will be a much missed servant of his Lord.
-
I just looked it up. Man, what a way to go. I feel so sorry for his family and his church. Prayers to them.
-
Yes, a terrible way to go. Poor Rick.

This is all know - am curious just how this took place tho.
(Jan 7th)"Pastor Rick has been in an accident at home and was pinned between his truck and his garage wall, with the truck in drive. He is currently in St Louis University Hospital in critical condition."
(Jan 8th) High fever of 104, unknown reason, did a brain scan, I don't know the results.
Well, after reading a bit more info, I guess his truck started going down the drive and he tried to stop it and was crushed. That makes more sense, sad news still.
I had a friend try to stop her car from rolling away in my slopped drive way. She thought the emergency break took, but she didn't press hard enough or forgot to, anyway, opened the door and tried to get in but it was already rolling and it ran over her foot and crushed it. It was a difficult healing, she was lucky.

How sad... Rick was a very kind man. One of my fondest memories of him was hearing him sing and play music one Sabbath at the Thompsonville church. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of loss.
