I notice that Doug Batchelor is being promoted (and 3ABN is "thrilled to announce" it) as giving a series entitled "Doctrines That Divide" in October, a joint venture of 3ABN and Amazing Facts.
Elder Batchelor, by the way, has been characterized as a long-term friend and supporter of Danny Shelton's, and also one who has possibly profited from doing the same type of "book deals" with kick-backs that Shelton has been reported to be engaged in.
Is 3ABN itself a dividing force within the Seventh-day Adventist church?
It appears to have the support of certain well-placed conservative Adventists because of the traditional religious image it cultivates.
However, beyond the nice dresses and suits, lack of jewelry, and gospel music, what else is happening?
"But a curse is on you, Pharisees! for you make men give a tenth of every sort of plant, and give no thought to right and the love of God; but it is right for you to do these things, and not let the others be undone." (Luke 11:42, Bible in Basic English)
For a media entity who claims to be the “Mending Broken People Network”, 3ABN has a lot of explaining to do regarding its covering up and support of pedophilia as well as documented corrupt behavior of some staff and employees.
3ABN: An organization that mends broken people, or hypocritical Pharisees causing division in the church?

It was pointed out in a series of three articles earlier this year in the Danish Union paper that Danny Shelton's book on the Commandments is a book that divides. Danny Shelton is not in tune with Ellen White but more in tune with the preaching of the Ten Commandments that is as dry as the dust on the hills of Gilboah.
Doctrines that divide. . .

An interesting example, Johann.

Doctrines that divide are also the ones that unite. They unite people in their division and solidify support. When doctrines that make people feel superior to others are expounded upon, those who are made to feel superior become united in strong support of the division. It pays to make people feel good about themselves.

Close to reality?

Thanks, princessdi!

In religion and politics the key to unity has always been division. Doctrines that divide will always be the most cherished.

Does 3ABN feel all that much superior?
-
We can start at the fact that Adventist feel that superior in the first place and then add that 3ABN feels superior to most Adventists........

Well said, princessdi...

Because they proclaim truth many people are impressed to believe they must be telling the truth when they aren't.
