Title: 3ABN Still Non-Denominational
Post by: Artiste on October 18, 2012, 05:37:25 PM
According to Wikipedia, 3ABN, although it supports the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist church, is an independent, nondenominational ministry.

3ABN hosts various SDA personalities such as John Bradshaw, who appears daily with It Is Written and Lincoln Steed, editor of Liberty magazine, who is scheduled tomorrow in the TV lineup. Elder Ted Wilson has also appeared fairly recently on 3ABN.

3ABN is probably the only nondenominational entity which regularly has well-known SDA leaders appearing on it.

(On a side note, Danny Shelton and reputed girlfriend Yvonne Lewis are together hosting 3ABN Today this coming Sabbath.)

Wikipedia also delineates the history of how Tommy Shelton went to prison for pedophilia and mentions the present federal lawsuit claiming that the network was negligent in how it handled the allegations against Tommy Shelton.

Tomorrow on 3ABN TV, Hal Steenson, presumably of Pentecostal background, will be presenting "The Gift of Tongues".

This is okay, I guess, since 3ABN is nondenominational.

John Bradshaw with "It is Written" and Lincoln Steed of GC religious liberty also appear again tomorrow on 3ABN.

How many people think that it is helpful for SDA denominational leaders to appear on a quasi-Adventist outlet like 3ABN?

Doesn't it give added credibility to 3ABN?

Is this what we want for a "ministry' that participated in a pedophilia cover-up?

I really don't understand why they don't just do it on the Hope Channel?

After all, the Hope Channel is the official TV Network of the SDA Church.

I have assumed that GC leadership that still appear on 3ABN do it because of the wider viewership enjoyed by 3ABN

But they are ignoring that fact that they are contributing to the credibility of an entity that has been accused of covering up child abuse.

Now that Tommy Shelton and 3ABN's lawsuit has been presumably settled, thus admitting guilt in the case, will Seventh-day Adventist church leaders continue to appear on 3ABN?

David Asscherick and Ty Gibson were on 3ABN Live last evening with Danny Shelton being the only one hosting it.

Interesting.
