It worked OK this time.
For those wondering what I was doing, I clicked on Profile in the Menu Bar and set my preferences to use the Quick Reply and Return to Topic after posting options, as I wasn't returning to the topic after posting something.

OK. Most everyone else seems to be able to get their blue boxes to surround the previous message that they are replying to and the rest white where they are responding. I haven't figured it out yet so will try this out.

great! It works!
Well, it seems that if I leave the "inserted quote" just as it, it works. If I try to delete any of it and focus on the part I am responding to, it doesn't. Maybe there are instructions somewhere, but until I find them, I will have to just leave the quotes whole. I will see if I can at least change font color of part of it.

When I was an active member of another forum, (not C/A) I learned a lot from them. One of them told me how to quote to only parts I wanted to quote. So, I will let you in on how she told me to do it.
If you use the key [ along with the word quote and then another ] at the end of the word quote then paste in what you are responding to and then do the same again, only use the [/ and the word quote and the key ] at the end of that, it should work all the time. That is what I do now so that I can respond to one thing at a time.

I just wish I could figure out how to post the smilies like Charis does! For the life of me I can not figure it out. Maybe I should go back to that other forum and see if someone can help me there.
