Adventist Conservatives and Moral Compromise
« on: September 05, 2011, 11:31:25 PM »

Is a focus of some in the adventist church - with presenting Conservatism in "Christianity" as if it's better than liberalism - an instance of Adventists attempting to introduce moral compromise into the Church?

I ask such a question after reading this article "http://www.adventistreview.org/article.php?id=4594

Conservative Adventism -has not convinced many peoples that they must not compromise, but has in fact convinced some peoples that "fraud" and dishonesty and fornication and promiscuity are ok.

What I can't understand - is why some who write for adventist publications are bent on convincing the world that conservatism -political conservatism is the same thing as Godliness and Liberalism is the same thing as moral compromise -when Theocratic as well as political conservatism are the same thing as moral compromise particularly on the subject of judical justice - courts, and bigotry?

Additionally, where is the Adventist Church;'s proof - that "political liberals" are any more morally compromised  than theocdratic and/or political conservatives?

I think the Adventist Church- this conservative institution and its mouthpiece are an agent of compromise because of its conservatism - it keeps pushing conservatism - although conservatism is associated with a dishonesty and an ungodly perversion of judical justice - and it scandalizes liberalism  -although the LBJ - or at least some of the LBJ/ FDR kind of progressivism was concerned with many good values - such as environmental rights, civil rights, etc.
The Adventist Church is quite an evil institution -in how it attempts to infuse talk of Godliness with being the same thing as  political labels as as conservatism.

ONly a dishonest man would pretend that conservatism is a form of godliness.  The Adventist Church is attempting to perpetuate a religion of perverted justice - discrimination against minorities, exploitation of the middle class and poor - dishonesty, and moral compromise - in attempting to equate godliness with conservatism and moral compromise with liberalism.

Why is it that the Adventist church has failed to admit that some of its conservatives are more morally compromised than many political liberals - believing that one can be Godly even as one engages in fornication, promiscuity, slander, dishonesty and a support for perverted justice  and discrimination and bigotry.

It's dishonest to make these cliched slanderous arguments that conservatism is the same thing as godliness.

I find it laughable that some over at the Adventist Review - and many within the SDA Church - would have one believe that because some one does not support perversion of judicial justice and exploitation and discrimination against others in employment etc. on the basis of gender, race, etc. and therefore would be classified as a "liberal" - that this person is morally compromised -

In fact Conservatives are morally compromised and dishonest - because they've attempted to equate their political conservatism with godliness - when in reality it is a religion of moral compromise that supports perverted "justice" - perverted "courts" - dishonesty - racial discrimination, fornication, rape, etc.

There are many "liberals" who are more pure, more honest, and less compromised than Adventists who are considered "conservative" .

So many "conservative" Adventists are morally compromised - that for them conservatism has merely come to mean a support for crude racial bigotry and moral compromise on many other issues.

The adventist church is trying to perpetuate support for an ungodly moral compromise and for racial and gender employment discrimination in its bid to equate conservatism with godliness.  What an insult to the tradition of Martin L. King and other "liberals" who actually do have uncompromised values.

Many of the people who hate Martin L. King - won't criticize Thomas Jefferson - when they talk of him as such as great Founding father.

The reason why so many "conservative" churches such as the SDA Church is growing in certain parts of the world -is because the Adventist Church actually represents a moral compromise that is palatable =

people are able to join the Adventist Church - and still retain moral compromised stances in terms of the 10 commandments - honesty, promiscuity, and the issue of justice and whether or not justice that is perverted is wrong.

The adventist Church and its conservatism are quite popular in particular parts of the globe where negative ethnicity are popular -.  People are drawn to the "conservatives" viewpoints about particular ethnic groups of people - and many people are drawn to the moral compromise that is a part and parcel of the Conservative movement.

Adventists - perpetuate the notion that one is not morally compromised and that one is Godly - even if one supports employment discrimination and racial discrimination - and fornication, and promiscuity, etc. and dishonesty.

This article in the Adventist Review -referenced above -seems to equate the growth of "conservative" religious movements with a desire for a lack of moral compromise - but such a viewpoint does not make sense.

Catholicism -statistically is growing quite fast and is "conservative" as is the SDA movement - even in spite of or because of its departure from scripture - but this does not mean that Catholicism or other "conservative" religious movements represent a lack of moral compromise.

People are attracted to "conservative " religious movements - in many respects because they themselves are morally compromised.

Additionally, some of the writers over at the Adventist Review would do well to acknowledge the research that has pointed out that many who join the church - have done very little to change high risk behavior that has led to such epidemics as HIV/AIDs -(being caused from multiple partners, promiscuity);
The adventist Church has gone out of its way to accept and embrace promiscuous persons who are also dishonesty, morally compromised on a whole host of fronts, etc, etc,

Is the Adventist Church really making a difference in terms of cutting down on sinful behavior when this behavior leads to HIV/AIDS?  The research that is available does not seem to say so.

In reading the Adventist Review   -I found this article - particularly disgusting http://www.adventistreview.org/issue.php?issue=2011-1522&page=6

Mr. Knott does not ask in the article - if the vast employed bureacracy of the Church could be hampering Godliness, God's kingdom - is unbiblical - and the antithesis of the early church - and could be encouraging worldliness.

is Bill KNott's role   to defend the excesses of the Adventist Church rather than Godliness
Where is the Biblical support - early Church example for the Adventist Church's vast employed bureacracy? There is none -

Where in the bible does it say that what the employees of the Church are paid is really their due?

The SDA Church in particular is particularly popular - because of the employment and opportunity for worldliness and its moral compromise - not for its adherence to biblical principles that it offers.

This is why this Church is popular in certain parts of the globe - because of the employment opportunities that it offers.

I believe and in my opinion - with the Adventist Review's equation of conservatism with Godliness - I believe that this is an example of how the Adventist Church - has equated or created an idol and God out of the American state - and American conservative Politics.

However, in reality -many persons are attracted to "conservative" religions that call themselves Christian - because they are drawn to the past success of the American experiment -

some are also drawn or inspired by the fact that Thomas Jefferson and George Washington also enslaved others, dehumanized others, etc.

This is the real inspiration and draw of persons to the "conservativism" of Adventism - this hypocrisy and "holier than thou" attitude even as one is a liar, a fornicator, morally compromised etc.

I find it an interesting notion that in my opinion, the Adventist Review seems to advocate- that simply because some one is against perverted justice and is against employment discrimination against minorities - which means taht one is not conservative - but a progressive in the tradition of Kennedy, LBJ and FDR - that one is morally compromised - if any thing this is not moral compromise - the conservatives are morally compromised

And why about the Adventist Conservatives - who are seeking out "others" to attempt to draw them into sin?

Political labels as used by many Adventists are quite dishonest and untruthful in depicting who is actually Godly and pure or purer and who is not.

The "conservative" tradition of the US is founded on an acceptance of the moral compromise of  those such as Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, etc.

I can confidently say that it is the conservative dishonesty and hypocrisy that is in my opinion displayed over at the Adventist Review - that will see the USA rendered to a nation, surpassed by China fairly soon.

EGW was correct in saying that God judged the USA for slavery.

I believe that God is now Judging the USA for its glorification of conservatism - when conservatism embraces rape, exploitation of women, racial job discrimination, unearned racial privilege, dishonesty, etc.

What a wonderful, but intellectually dishonest, debate with yourself!!!

However, liberalism is hardly a solution to the abscence of moral compass and economic morass. What it has to do with Adventism is simply a delusional assumption you have contrived into a set of failed assumptions and significant mis-read of history.

An SDA could not subscribe to any of the allegations you level and if so is simply not a Seventh-day Adventist. No-one who believes and practices Christianity as though he believes in the second coming and reveres the Seventh-day Sabbath, and the rest of the Commandments could even come close to being a part of the allegations you level or is simply easy to identify as a hypocrit.

But, look in the mirror very carefully as the same applies to that being you are looking at.
